Welcome to Week 2 of Dayton Women In the Word's 2020 Summer Study.

This week, Laura invites us to look at Paul’s letter from a bird’s eye view. She takes us through six prominent themes in 2 Timothy: remembering, teaching, suffering & shame, “in you,” confidence, and “be strengthened.” These themes overlap and connect throughout Paul’s letter as he entrusts his ministry to Timothy before he is martyred.

WEEK 2 STUDY TOOLs:

In this video, Natalie and Jillian talk about how annotation (taking notes) helps to enrich the study of the Bible. You can begin annotating during your repetitive reading of 2 Timothy as you study to prepare for Week 2.

Laura Swain, one of this summer's DWITW 2 Timothy teachers, shares how she uses the tools of Repetitive Reading and Annotation in her personal study of the Bible.

MEMORY VERSE

Each summer, we aim to memorize at least one passage from the book we are studying— our key verse. One way we memorize Scripture is through song. In this video, our friend Kelly Gwin sings this year’s key verse, 2 Timothy 2:1-2.

looking forward to week 3:

Natalie and Jillian discuss Cross Referencing— a study tool that opens our eyes to the big story of Bible.

Week 3’s Response Questions (page 11 of your 2 Timothy Companion Guide) include comprehension, interpretation, and application. Natalie and Jillian explain how to approach these questions for your personal study this week!
